My name is David Hatfield.  I am a Federal ranger at J. Strom Thurmond Lake (Clarks Hill Lake) located near Augusta, Georgia. In order to reduce water-related fatalities, we have an agreement with a local news station, Channel 6 - WJBF, to produce and air water safety PSA's for the upcoming 4th of July and Labor Day weekends.  We were hoping an influential public figure would be willing to do a 30 second public service announcement encouraging people to practice safe recreational water habits.  Our agency - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers would provide the script for review.  Our target audience is everyone, but especially males between the ages of 16 to 50 years old.  In the 20 years I have been a Federal ranger, over 90% of fatalities on our lake has been males in that age range. We would love for the governor to get our water safety message out. If you could get back to me about this possible opportunity that would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you!
