BlueCross BlueShield to Cut 800 Jobs

Columbia, SC - BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina says it will have to cut 800 jobs in Florence and Surfside Beach after losing a federal health care contract.  Spokeswoman Donna Thorne says the positions range from entry-level to management.  The company announced it was cutting a thousand jobs from Columbia last month after losing another contract, but now Thorne says only 760 jobs will be lost

BlueCross says it will do all it can to help employees whose jobs are eliminated, including trying to find them other jobs within the company
