Dear Mrs. Haley,

Thank you for your service as our governor and thank you for your courage on how you handled the removal of the confederate flag.  Since you have shown such strong leadership and the will to stand up for what is right, in this vein I am appealing to you to continue.  I am not sure if you are aware of what is happening on the frontline of daily life in SC.  Because of our new president's rhetoric in this campaign, white supremacists and like minded people have felt emboldened to come out and be forceful.  It is shameful how this is playing out in our elementary and middle schools.  Our daughter and neighbor's children come home, sometimes in tears with stories of what many children are telling them due to their heritage or race.  

I appeal to you to make a forceful public statement and make it unequivocally clear this is NOT what this country or SC is about.  You are in a unique position that will carry more power and meaning than the usual crowd on the left that is obviously ignored and mocked.  These are scary times for many of us, we are disgusted with what we have seen come out the last year and it is time for the brave and moral people to stand up.
