Governor, first of all I would like to thank anyone who takes the time to read my thoughts regarding this matter. I watched the video that has gone viral, and the fact that the Seneca police are not going to admit they messed up brings me to you. I understand not wanting liability for what happened on their part, but that is immoral and it is plain as day the officer was NOT going to be run over. He was at least a foot away from the vehicle, and there is absolutely no excuse for him to have used his gun. He could've even shot out the tires if he needed to. This is inexcusable and with all of the hardship the state has had this year, I find it to be someone in powers position to be consistent in what is acceptable and what is not. I am 27 years old, and I am smart enough to know if someone flees in a vehicle, an officer should run to his car and call for backup as this could turn into a chase. That child was 19 years old and had his whole life ahead of him. Please do what is right and stand up in your position to show South Carolina is against this type of activity. It is so obvious the general public in 2015 DO NOT have faith in our government or any government agencies, especially the police. In my opinion if you want to keep a calm and collected public, you admit when things went wrong, and take the steps to fix this. This is only going to make things worse if this is not addressed and fixed and also done publicly. Thank you for your time and God Bless.
