I do not have a complaint. My name is Beatriz Hernandez, and own (IBA)Institute of Beauty Artistry, in downtown Greenville. IBA open doors in 2011, we offer Cosmetology, Esthetics and Nail Technology program. Cosmetology is 1,500 hours (10 to 18 months). Esthetics is 450 hours (4 to 8 months) and Nail Technology is 300 hours (2 to 5 months). Just a Nail Technician, can obtain a profesional license in only 2 months, and start making $450 to 900+ a week, Estheticians and Cosmetologists can double and triple that. I have a lot of individuals wanting to start nails and beauty salons, but is only one problem. In South Carolina, LLR do not allowed an indocumented person to obtain a profesional license, not even DACA. I understand the reason is because of Client Prootection, which I totally understand. But this people want to do it right. All of them already have a Tax ID number, and they already pay taxes, they work and do not receive any help from the goverment. I would like to know what are the possibilities to help improve this situation. I'm minority, hispanic woman, doing right to my state, and I like to help others, as well as I want to see South Carolina economy and employment grow. As a beauty professional, I know that just one salon, can hired 2 to 10 (and more). I can only imagine how much the economy will change if something can be done. I am willing to help with anything possible to help. Please, let me know if is something that we can do. Thank you so very much. 71.85.106.37
