I have submitted a formal request to SCDOT but was denied because the Park does not fall within the SCDOT Traffic Engineering Guidelines of 200,000 tourist annually or within 8 miles of the Exit. My request was to have signage installed on the I-85 and I -20 highways that would have utilize the existing SC Heritage Discovery Corridor Route which currently has existing way finding signage and would not need additional signage from Exit 5 on I-20 or Exit 11 on I-85. Unfortunately there is very little recognition from our State bolstering the "First Land Battle of the South of the American Revolution", holder of two American Revolution War records, the only place in the World left to view a British built earthen star-shaped fort; the only place in the United States where a Patriot dug war tunnel is still in existence. The Park holds its pedigree and yet still unable to have signage installed to attract tourist dollars from the largest Interstate highway in the Upstate. There are millions of tourism dollars passing by without knowledge of our extremely historic park within a 45 minute drive. Thank you for any assistance you could provide in securing this goal and promoting our beautiful historic Upstate. My Best Regards, Jennifer Donlon
