James,

Thank you for your assistance with scheduling a meeting with Swati Patel.  Please let me know if there is any additional information you may need.

Carey

Swati,

I hope this email finds you well. The US Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) is hosting a lunch in Columbia on Thursday, January 21st and I welcome the opportunity to speak with you about the event.  I will be in Columbia on Thursday and Friday, January 7th and 8th and wanted to check if you might have some time available to meet.   I certainly understand you are busy and I will meet at a time of your convenience.

The USGLC is a bipartisan, broad based network of over 400 businesses, NGOs, non-profit organizations, faith and community based leaders, military veterans and elected officials that have come together in support of  strategic partnerships to advance U.S. foreign assistance.  Our coalition is active across the country and includes Boeing, Save the Children, Caterpillar, Catholic Relief Services, Coca-Cola, GE, Mercy Corps, Microsoft, Save the Children and the US Chamber of Commerce.  The USGLC works to educate the American public and policymakers on the importance of investing in diplomacy and development alongside defense in building a strategic, modern foreign policy.

The USGLC has been involved in SC for a few years now and has established a great Advisory Committee in the state (please see attached).  I have also attached the national coalition as well as the current invitation to the event. Admiral Mike Mullen, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff will be our keynote speaker.  There will also be a panel discussion with surrogates of the GOP presidential campaigns (invitees are based on aggregate SC polling).   KT Mcfarland, Fox News contributor, will moderate the event and we will have additional updates on participants as confirmed.

I appreciate your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,

Carey Campbell
