We have spoken with everyone we know to contact, including Laura Mills w/DSS in Columbia, and have found they CANNOT be trusted. We feel they are aiding and abetting unfit parents (tipping them off) in a particular situation in which we have had been involved. The "parents" supposedly are not to be with these 2 babies (nearly 3 yrs old and nearly 2 yrs old) unsupervised. That is not being followed - in fact, after months of not having them because of this, the babies have been returned to her w/NO ramifications. The babies tested positive by hair follicle for marijuana on or about June, 2014. These babies have been moved 6 times in 9 months because "mom" had a meltdown and can still call the shots; the caseworker does as she commands. Today, it appears she was tipped off again so she wouldn't be caught w/the babies unsupervised(too lengthy to explain). When we called one of the local supervisors, we were told they don't file a Complaint w/the Courts "just for positive drug tests". If not that, what WILL they do to help these and other babies like them?! Many studies show that it is highly unlikely that a non-smoker of marijuana will test positive from second-hand smoke. WHY AREN'T THESE BABIES BEING PROTECTED?! PLEASE HELP!!
