On March 12th 14 teens and their advisors attended the National Students Against Violence Everywhere Youth Summit. Our chapter was named the National Chapter of the year. This award was a result of these young people hard work and commitment SAVE has over 2,000 chapters across the USA. We've contacted media and spoke to elected officials locally and state, unfortunately no one has recognized these young people. These fine group of teens not only represent Georgetown, but the state of South Carolina. I think it's so sad when our children behave inappropriately and engage in activities that results in serious/sad consequences it's all over the media; but they do something as GREAT as receiving national recognition no one says anything. April 4th -8th is National Youth Violence Prevention Week. Our latest project was writing positive messages on sidewalks of Down Town Georgetown. Upcoming Event: May 18th: Host Operation Get Smart Program, May 21st: Host Teen Pregnancy Prevention Discussion Panel. Check out our SmartTeen Driving Video on YouTube at Optimism Smart Teen Thank You for all you do for the people of South Carolina and praying God's continue blessings for You.
