IV.        Writing Process and Development of Ideas (42 points)

            a.    The beginning identifies the issue and engages the reader's attention

            b.    The ideas of the composition are in logical order

            c.    The composition contains effective transitions that help the reader move smoothly from idea to idea

            d.    The composition clearly explains the writer's point of view

            e.    The writer uses enough details and examples to explain his/her ideas fully

            f.    The writing style is appropriate for the audience

            g.    The composition has a definite ending that effectively supports the writer's point of view
