I have from life experience determined that the loud, incessant crying of a baby can become "unbearable" to a male (or female) caretaker. Many people have a condition known as Tinitus (ringing in the ears), and loud sounds are especially uncomfortable, whether a baby's caretaker has Tinitus, or not. My input is as follows: To prevent the shaking of a loud, crying baby in the care of a caretaker, I suggest that our governor (a person who I respect as fearless)take a position recommending that baby caretakers, especially men (who have an abundance of naturally-occurring testosterone)place ear plugs / ear protection into their ears when caring for a baby. This is the same hearing precaution used aroung loud things such as jet engines and sound amplifiers. Protecting the ears from loud, incessant sound, such as a crying baby can make, I believe, can prevent a person from reacting violently to the loud, incessant sound by muffling it with ear protection. Fearless Governor Haley should take a proactive position about this domestic violence shaken baby problem and not only promulgate it, but also provide free ear protection (foam earplugs) to caretakers who cannot afford them, (just a nicotine gum and patches are provided free to those who wish to stop smoking.)
