My mom has COPD and was told in January that she couldn't return back to work due to 24 hours a day on oxygen and only 25% of lung capacity.  She was hospitalized for 7 days and on a breathing machine with being told if no improvement possibly life support.  But by Gods Grace she is living but without medication will soon die. With this being said she never returned back to work by the doctors orders whom told me to contact her employer and within 3 days she received a termination letter and lost all insurance.Her medications cost more than $1500.00 a month not to include doctor visits whom are specialist. She only has $1000.00 a month on short term disability that ends in August and this doesn't include housing,utilities and food. With no income or medication she will not be able to Live. She has been turned down for Medcaid and Food Stamps because of making too much money? My mom has work all of her life and has paid into the system and it is sad that she cannot receive help. It IS NOT a Great Day in SC your help would be appreciated in this urgent and desperate need.
