West Columbia Paso Fino farm to hold open house
WEST COLUMBIA---The public is invited to attend a Pure Puerto Rican Paso Fino Federation (PPRPFF) Open House on Saturday, May 4, 2002, at the Creighton Shulls Paso Fino Farm on Ermine Road in West Columbia.
The Pure Puerto Rican Paso Fino Federation (PPRPFF), established in 1987 with the sole purpose of preserving the "four beat lateral gait," holds Open House each spring on farms throughout the East Coast. As one of the founders of the Federation and a Paso Fino advocate for the last 15 years, Creighton Shull continues to breed and sell these horses throughout South Carolina and neighboring states.
The Paso Fino is known as the smoothest ride in the world, "the Cadillac of the horse world". Paso Finos are "people" horses. They strive to please. The ease with which they are handled makes them a wonderful companion.
Admission is free, and hamburgers, hot dogs, and all the trimmings will be provided for those attending.
Les Tindal, Commissioner of Agriculture, Gail Brown of Batesburg, Pure Puerto Rican Paso Fino Federation President, and other PPRPFF officers are scheduled to participate in the event.
