FREE NOTARY
PUBLIC SEMINAR

Jim Miles
Secretary of State Jim Miles is
pleased to announce a free instructional seminar for all
South Carolina Notaries Public in Horry County, to be held
from 12:00 (noon) to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, at the
Horry County Council Chambers. Registration for the event
begins promptly at 11:30 a.m.
Subjects addressed will include: State Laws Governing
Notaries; Notary Responsibility and Liability; Penalties;
and a question and answer segment. All notaries are
encouraged to attend to develop a better understanding of
duties and responsibilities as Notaries Public in South
Carolina and to meet the Secretary of State and office
staff.
According to Secretary Miles, attendance has been heavy at
notary seminars around the state.
“We are pleased with the level of participation,” said
Secretary Miles. “Our state’s notaries reach people every
day, and it is important that when government touches our
citizens, we do it with excellence. Our notaries from around
the state have demonstrated a desire to serve with
professionalism and a strong sense of public service.”
