I must tell you that I am a very liberal, progressive voter from Massachusetts. I have never voted for a Republican candidate. Nevertheless, I am both impressed by and grateful for your speech last night. As a mother, grandmother and teacher, I sometimes fear for the future of our country as I listen to the increasingly bitter and angry rhetoric which seems designed to pit us against each other. Your gentle, intelligent, honest words from last night give me so much hope for a brighter, more civil nation where my children can be respected and valued by all sides. I support your efforts to work toward a more bipartisan, more open country. I hope that you will continue to speak the truth and to call out those who degrade the values that make us all better human beings. I hope that your future will hold a run for a national office. It very well could be that this liberal old woman could cast her first ever Republican vote if your name was the one on the ballot. Wishing you all the best, Karen Shiebler
