Wagener SC 29164 kjudgemorrissey@earlyautismproject.com 803 624 0013 HEAL Medicaid 70.35.70.214 I am writing to you about the broken Medicaid system in Aiken County. There is an influx of children (many of them with disabilities) that are not receiving benefits due to a back log. As an example, my daughter who has a congenative disorder, in which she needs therapies weekly, as well as, surgeries every six month, was asked to leave because her insurance was ineligible. I was totally in the dark. I have never received any paper work, my application was turned in early, and my daughter is left to suffer. How many other children are suffering because of a bureaucratic red tape. Parents are left to worry what will happen to their child without any coverage. I am not sure why this is a problem, I am sure there are solutions such as extend the termination date, or hire a temp agency to aid in the backlog, but something must be done to ensure our children are able to thrive. Sincerely, Karen Judge- Morrissey
