There used to be a DV shelter several years ago called Citizens Against Spousal Abuse. CASA was disbanded after allegations of misappropriation of funds. That left Horry County with a DV shelter for years until a new agency was created called New Directions. New Directions had a sub-agency called Lifeline which was a DV shelter and provided services for women of domestic violence. Lifeline no longer serves domestic violence victims. Horry County is again left with NO domestic violence services. This seems absolutely absurd and unacceptable. If a DV victim needs shelter and safety the closest shelter is either Georgetown or Brunswick in North Carolina. I think this is an important issue that needs to be addressed. Thank you. 50.42.36.50
