Hosts Glenn Gardner and Jean Leitner and the rest of the crew went to the mountains for this show...and pretty much stayed there. Both of the two main stories this week feature the mountain angler's favorite subject: trout. The crew followed DNR fisheries staff from the Clemson office through a trout stream restoration project above Walhalla, then revisited the nearby Walhalla State Fish Hatchery for more on trout spawning. If you love fishing in the mountains, you'll want to catch this one!
A Field Trip to Bunched Arrowhead Heritage Preserve, purchased to protect the federally endangered bunched arrowhead and other rare plants growing in wetland seeps on the property, along with few quite moments in the woods near Blythewood during Palmetto Portraits, round out the show.
Be sure to read the next issue of South Carolina Wildlife magazine, due out the last week of this month, to get information about Volume 1 of the Best of South Carolina Wildlife TV, available on DVD through The Wildlife Shop just in time for the holidays!
