It isn't anything special. Dear, Governor Bentley This is a message we need to send to the people of America. As Governor of Alabama your purpose is to represent the folks of this state and to preserve the peace and dignity of Alabama. Recently folks all over the nation are crying to take down our Confederate Battle Flags. The Charleston Church incident has sparked the liberal media and started a chain reaction of attacks against our heritage. You know as well as I do that the flag is a representation of our fight for state's rights in the war between the states. There has even been talk of changing our state flag and the state flags of our neighboring southern states. We have kept our state flag since 1895 and has grown to represent our state. Alabama has always stood its ground and we will fight to defend our heritage. I request that you take a firm stand to defend the people of our great state. With whatever will come next I hope you will encourage other state's officials to model after Alabama. "We dare defend our rights". God Bless! Sincerely, Joseph B. Day?
