MIAMI (AP) - Tropical Storm Bonnie is moving in the Gulf of Mexico today.
But the National Hurricane Center in Miami says the storm could turn to the northeast and the remnants could be in eastern South Carolina by late Thursday afternoon.
At 11 a.m., Bonnie was 350 miles south southwest of the mouth of the Mississippi River. The storm is moving northwest at eight miles an hour. Bonnie is expected to turn to the north in the next 24 hours.
Highest winds are 60 miles an hour and some strengthening is possible today.
The storm's winds would have dropped sharply by the time it reaches South
Carolina, if it heads this way.
