As President Obama enlarges his carbon footprint to attend the U.N.'s climate change conference in Paris, a large group of American corporations are lining up to back his global warming polices.
To compliment his appearance in Paris, Obama has announced additions to a growing list of large American corporations signing onto his American Business Act on Climate Pledge to show support for the president's climate change ideas.
By signing the pledge, these companies are voicing support for Obama's ideas to succeed at the Paris conference. The pledge also recognizes those foreign countries that have already put forward climate targets.
The companies that have signed the pledge are affirming their ongoing commitment to climate action. And for their part in this initiative, each company is announcing significant pledges to reduce their emissions, increase low-carbon investments, deploy more clean energy, and take other actions to build more sustainable businesses and tackle climate change.
The companies announced this week by the Obama administration include big names like Amazon.com, DuPont, Staples, MGM Resorts International, JetBlue Airways Corp., Coke, and 21st Century Fox.
According to the White House webpage, the pledge includes ambitious, company-specific goals such as:

	Reducing emissions by as much as 50 percent,
	Reducing water usage by as much as 80 percent,
	Achieving zero waste-to-landfill,
	Purchasing 100 percent renewable energy, and
	Pursuing zero net deforestation in supply chains.
	Setting an example for their peers. Today's announcements build on the launch of the American Business Act on Climate Pledge in July, and the second round of announcements in October.

Some of the companies that signed the pledge also cooperated to take out an ad Tuesday in The Wall Street Journal, further announcing their support for a low-carbon economy and success for Obama in Paris.
"We want this economy to be energy efficient and low carbon," the ad says. "We believe there are cost-effective and innovative solutions that can help us achieve that objective. Failure to tackle climate change could put America's economic prosperity at risk. But the right action now would create jobs and boost competitiveness."
