I'm aware that the bridges are being repaired because they had gaping holes in them. I routed a vendor of my company around those bridges last week down SC 34 to avoid the traffic nightmare. I suspect the bridge work has something to do with the accident. My thoughts and prayers go out to those involved. I support a flat tax added to the fuel price to take care of our South Carolina roads. My understanding is that taxes have not been increased in many years to take care of our highways. South Carolina is a tourism state and we are trying to lure businesses into our state to create jobs. Many travelers from other states come into our state and pass through it. When I was a kid, the interstates were immaculate. Now, the grass is knee high and cut once a year. What image are we portraying to travelers and businesses? With the bridges falling apart, will my family be safe to travel in this state? Can companies rely on our transportation arteries to deliver their products? Do we have enough Troopers to deal with the increasing amount of aggressive drivers? I don't like paying tax, but it's time to take care of our roads. It's past time. Thanks for Listening, Barry Godwin, Hartsville
