(Osaka, Japan-AP) Oct. 27, 2003 -- Governor Mark
Sanford and governors from two other southeastern states
and representatives of four other states met with
Japanese officials and business leaders Monday for a
meeting to increase investment and trade.
Sanford and the governors of Georgia and Tennessee
were at the session, with representatives from Florida,
Alabama, North Carolina and Virginia. The
representatives joined discussions on trade and
investment before visiting the Universal Studio Japan
theme park for a reception.
More than 300 officials and businesspeople from the
seven states took part. The meeting is conducted
annually by the Japan-US Southeast Association.
