The situation is unfair treatment of Divorced fathers in the State of South Carolina, and how we are treated as dead beats in the eyes of family court. My ex wife makes 60,000 and i make 53,000 and now i have to pay 775 a month in support, i feel that the calculation is unfair, and how the court system takes the word of the mother, I have seen where judges place such high amounts on the fathers, we as father have a right to live, we sacrifice for the well being of our children. In my case i have to move to North Carolina to find a job so that i can pay my support, but when I was living in South Carolina i was always in court trying to defend myself because of the job market, and every time i went there i was charged with additional fines, how was I suppose to pay extra fines when i could not pay what i was ordered to. I keep in touch with the enforcement division there, but I was given was oh well, i think that the child support laws need to be reformed due to the current status of the economy. I would be more than to meet with a person from your staff, and discuss this in detail, I feel that if child support laws where reformed to the current situation of the economy we would have more fathers doing the right thing. I also feel that mother's in this state are not held to the same standard as fathers, we deserve to have a life while doing what is best for our children, this has caused me alot of stress and has ruined my credit history. I love my daughter and do what i can to help, but it comes to a point where the system is one sided. I have so much to say that there is not enough space here. I would like someone from your staff to call me. I think that family court judges need to understand that the economy is bad and fathers do the best that they can to send money for their children.
