Please read: First let me start with Red Light cameras. Running red lights is out of control. People have progressed to running full on Red Lights and I am seeing accidents and near misses daily. There is no downside to redlight cameras. Someone is either running a red light or they are not. I now believe red light cameras are the only way to get this under control and to prevent needless deaths. I think they should be required. Red Light Cameras = Less Accedents and Less Deaths. Now speeding cameras are a little bit different. There is the calebration issue, the private organizations making money, and over use. My suggested solution here is that speed cameras should be allowed, however, they should only be used for speeders going 21 miles or more over the posted speed limit and anything 20 miles and under should require a live officer on the sceen to issue the ticket. Sure there will still be the grey area of the 21 22 miles over fought by layers using calebration as their issue, but my hope is that by having the usage set so high that the ticket is still valid because at that hight of a situation they are still violating the speed limit even if the camera is off by a significant percent. The goal of these cameras should be to ticket the wreckless operators, not the "normal" drivers. The high speeders are also usually the ones weaving in and out of traffic. Please reconsider the use of cameras in our state. I now believe we got it wrong. Thank you, Chuck Lobaugh
