Volunteer instructors sought for new Family Fishing Clinics
Experienced anglers are sought by the S.C. Department of Natural Resources Aquatic Education Section to volunteer for a new family fishing instruction program.
The Family Fishing Clinics (FFCs) are designed to introduce the basics of fishing to the young and old.
Participants will learn how to tie fishing knots, rig rods, cast, fish and more! The S.C. Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR) Aquatic Education Section hopes to accomplish this through the FFCs and a trained set of skilled volunteers.
Volunteers must be willing to attend a volunteer training session and undergo a SLED background and driving record check. Once trained, the Certified DNR Fishing Instructors will be expected to host at least two clinics a year for a minimum of 15 participants and no more than 25 participants and turn in the required reporting documents.

The intention of the Family Fishing Clinics is to introduce participants with little or no angling experience or those who need a refresher to the basics of fishing to increase their future participation in the sport.
