PSC Dir. Resigns Amid Resume Inflation Allegations
Columbia (AP) - Public Service Commission Executive Director Bruce Duke has resigned amid allegations he made false statements on his resume about his academic background and military experience.

Vice Chairman G. O'Neal Hamilton says PSC Commissioners voted Wednesday to accept Duke's written letter of resignation. Duke's resignation is effective immediately.

Duke had been the subject of a commission investigation earlier this month to determine whether some credentials on his resume are misstated.

A copy of Duke's resume shows he has a master's degree from the University of South Carolina. Records show he has a bachelor's degree from the school.

The resume also says he served in the U.S. Marine Corps for three years. Records show he served from less than two years.

Hamilton says Duke resigned because he wanted to follow another career path.
