In the last decade more and more of those tourists come to view our wildlife and pristine creeks and rivers and I am afraid with drilling we could destroy that! In addition one small spill could destroy the fishing and shrimping industry and the oyster beds. You may not know this bit in the 1850's Charleston was known for it's delicious oysters which subsequently became extinct from industry run off. Please do not let that happen again! As for the oil industry creating jobs here in SC that is a fallacy. Most rig workers live on the rigs rarely bringing their families to the state. Truly I am afraid that more jobs and industry would be lost in Charleston if the oil rigs come to our beautiful coast. Besides the trend is to other forms of energy, why oil why now? Finally I will not support you in any reelection if you continue to support oil drilling and I am not alone. Should you do this your legacy will be "the governor who is responsible for the greatest oil disaster on the East coast!" And you know especially in the light of our recent flooding that natural disasters are a constant threat and why add the possibility of an devastating oil spill for a few jobs most of whose workers will not relocate in SC and whose wages could not afford housing in the Lowcountry anyway!
