Our apartment complex Austin Woods was flooded out and our apartments are not livable because of the mold mildew and our ceiling leaking. We are currently living with my wife's aunt until they fix our place. This process could take a month or two due to the fact that the majority of the apartments were damaged. My question is why do we still have to pay rent for an apartment that is non livable? The money that we have we could be using to find another place, but we have to use that to pay rent in a place we are not living. I have a 2 year old and a 6 month old daughters and I am concerned about their health and safety if we were to live in the apartment with mold and mildew. There are other families in the same situations but they don't have anywhere to go. They will not uplift our lease and we can't find another place to stay because of that. If you could find the time to help us and answer our questions it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
