(Below is the message I sent you previously)

It was good to talk to you today.  As I mentioned, I've reply letter from Deputy Solicitor Andrew Culbreath, who works directly for Solicitor Walt Wilkins, regarding the handling of the case of the offender who attacked your daughter and your grandson.  After receiving the Deputy Solicitor's answer to my letter, I still have some serious concerns about how the plea and release of the offender occurred.  I would like to discuss my concerns directly with Solicitor Wilkins, but I first would like to meet with you (and your daughter, if she is willing).  I will be in Greenville to conduct some training at the Sheriff's Office on Weds., March 2, and would love to get together to talk over lunch somewhere nearby, if you are available.  I will meet with Solicitor Wilkins on another day, with you and whoever you want to accompany you, or even without you if that is what you would like.

As the state's Director of the Office of the Crime Victims' Ombudsman, it is my duty to insure that victims are treated with dignity and respect, and are protected by all the rights afforded to them by law.  I know Solicitor Wilkins personally to be a very kind and intelligent person.  I doubt he will be happy to hear that Jennifer and you were treated as you were, and that the offender was released without advance notice to you, and that the plea was not thoroughly discussed before it was offered.  I am also disturbed to hear that you only had 1/2 hour's notice to be in court for the plea hearing.

Let's be in touch about our lunch on the 2nd.  [NOW RESCHEDULED FOR 2/18 AT 12:00 IN EASLEY] Feel free to call me at 803-734-0357, or email me at Veronica.Kunz@admin.sc.gov.

Take care, and I'm really looking forward to meeting you!
