Dear Governor Haley,
I am writing with great concern to implore you to be ready for a choice point that seems inevitable, one that is crucial to sustaining our democracy. This is a choice that is below politics, below Democrat or Republican. It will involve setting boundaries and saying no to the new president, when he crosses the line of democratic rule in order to enforce his views and self-interest. When that day comes, he will rely on you as a Republican leader not to want to jeopardize the power of being in the majority in order to stop him. 
I implore you that when that time comes, and it will, that you will be the only ones who can save our country from slipping into the beginnings of a covert or even overt strong man rule, an imbalance of power that this country hasn't known and from which we may not be able to return.
