The South Carolina Education Lottery is
celebrating its second anniversary. With the anniversary come the
announcements of two new ad campaigns including a jingle and
testimonials from scholarship recipients.
Over the past two
years, the lottery has given more than $429 million to education.
More than 100,000 students are receiving scholarships and there have
been more than $871 million in prizes awarded. Lottery funds also
helped buy $8 million in school buses for South Carolina this
year.
Lottery officials say every time you play, education
wins. Tina McDonald used lottery funds to build-up her classroom
library and she says it's made a big difference.
“I can just
go over and pull a book on matter or weather and read a book to them
or have them take it home to study it,” McDonald said.
