Public input sought on National Fish, Wildlife and Plants Climate Adaptation Strategy
A draft of the National Fish, Wildlife, and Plant Climate Adaptation Strategy has been released and public input is requested. A public session is being held in Charleston on Feb. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Strategy provides a mechanism for working as a unified community with shared principles and practices to safeguard the nation’s key terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems needed to sustain fish, wildlife and plant resources against the impacts of climate change.
The session will be held at the Charleston County Library at 68 Calhoun Street in Charleston. Registration is required to attend.
The multi-partner strategy was released by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration with support by the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, which the S.C. Department of Natural Resources is a member, to serve as a valuable tool and blueprint for agencies, wildlife managers, tribes, and private landowners as they continue to manage their lands and natural resources in a changing environment.
