These are tenant-owned apartment/condos. Similar to Willow Creek, but owned by individuals. When we got there, most everyone had left and the residents were inside, so we started canvassing the neighborhood, knocking on doors with lights on. Ended up finding the HOA president and area manager Some of them in the back were high enough that they didn't flood, but the ones closer to the front flooded. Some of them did go without food for 3 days. NOBODY has been there to help them before today. FEMA has already shown up, but financial aid is 10 days away. A lot of their carpeting has been removed, but there is more that needs to be done, and appliances and furniture need to be removed. If we could get these folks a big hot breakfast tomorrow, that would be amazing. Maybe a big trailer grill unit and some griddles? NEEDS: (Remember, These guys are staying here because they own, not renters that are moving out like Willow Creek) * Appliances like refrigerators, washer/dryer stack units. * Muscle to move furniture appliances, carpet, and ruined items out * Tools and know-how for that. Possibly drywall removal * About 10 or so tarps for the roofs that are still leaking * Plastic painters drop cloths to protect furniture moved out onto porches * Baby Wipes * LOTS of diapers, all sizes. Lots of families in here * Formula * Cleaning supplies (Bleach, bathroom spray, buckets, sponges, rubber gloves, mops, etc) * Dog Food * Cat Food * Liquid detergent (or clothes washing service) * More bottled water * Milk, cereal for kids * Soda and caffeine free soda SPECIAL NEEDS: There are residents here that lost their cars and need to get to work, because their car is their livelihood. If you can give folks rides, pay for cabs etc., that could mean them keeping their jobs through this. One gentleman needs some spark plugs changed in his 2005 Taurus. It was not ruined thankfully as he was at work during the worst of it, but it's not driving right and he works on Garner's Ferry. They are going to need flooring, so any place that will give them a break on purchase and install would be amazing. DIRECTIONS: There are roads blocked all around them. The easiest way is to go into the IHOP parking lot on St. Andrews/Fernandina, and go to the back, right side past the Kroger and turn left onto Kay Rd. Go straight along there and you'll drive right into the complex. Their bridge is privately owned, and so DOT will NOT fix it. But it needs to be assessed and possibly repaired. It looked fine to me, and we drove over it, but I wouldn't bring say, a 21,000 lb military vehicle in there over it. If you're on site and getting set up tomorrow morning, talk to Cecelia (manager) @ 145 Wood Ct, 803-730-2988 or Sheila (HOA president) 803-237-2740 #WeAreSCStrong! I was there with water and boxes and the police turned me away- I'm disappointed... My Carolina Alumni Association delivered there twice today and was told by police to come back in morning before another delivery could be made. Some guys went back with a trailer full of water, which was delivered to St Andrews Woods and neighboring apts/condos. At least three vehicles are full of donations and planning to be there between 9-10 am tomorrow morning. I know there is a lot of need there and support is coming!!!
