Governor Haley,
I have a concern with the South Carolina law on payment of wages. I am a Certified Appraiser and work within Richland and Lexington County. As appraisal laws have changed we are now at the mercy of servicing companies. While these companies have decreased our pay and new restrictions have increased our work load for lessor pay, many of us find it very difficult to stay within our profession. The main issue at point is that these service companies take forever to pay our wages in South Carolina. I have waited upto 6 months to get paid from some of these service companies. I have been told by several of them that this is due to no law being placed within South Carolina giving them a time frame in which they have to pay us. These service companies are sitting on our hard earned money, gaining intrest on it and letting us sit by waiting to get paid for our services. I have 3 children under the age of 9 and need to support them which is very difficult at times as I'm waiting on a paycheck. I implore you to look into this and pray that the law be rewritten to protect all South Carolina residents that are affected by this. Thank you for your consideration and time.
