Ag Lime Conference scheduled
RALEIGH, NC---The Ag Lime Conference will be held on August 18-20,2002, at the Marriott Crabtree Valley in Raleigh, NC.
Topics for the meeting on Monday, August 19th, include: "PPI Soil Fertility" - Dr.Terry Roberts , Potash and Phosphate Institute; "No-Till Farming and Ag Lime" Dr. Lloyd Murdock, University of KY; "Ag Lime Quality/Particle Size and Neutralizing Values" - Dr. Ray Tucker, retired, Chief Agronomist , NC Dept of Agriculture; "Lime Needs & Use: Historical, Present & Future Perspectives" - Dr. David Hardee, Chief Agronomist, NC Dept of Agriculture; "Liquid Lime" (speaker to be announced); and "Shipment by Rail" - Paul Heyman, Norfolk Southern Railroad.
Tuesdays topics include: "GPS Update and EmergingTechnologies" - Dr. Ron Heiniger, NC State University, "Ag Lime: Spreading, Crop Yield Response, and Promoting Use"- Dr. Mark Alley or W. G. Wysor, Professors of Agriculture Virginia Tech University.
The meeting also includes a tour of the NC Department of Agricultures Agronomic Lab Facility" with Dr. Richard Reich, Director of the NCDA Agronomic Division.
Sponsoring organizations include: the Plant Food Association of NC, the NC Department of Agriculture, Virginia Tech University, Clemson University, and the SC Fertilizer and Agrichemical Association.
