Senate vote kills one sales tax plan

The 15-30 roll call by which the South Carolina Senate voted not to increase the state's sales tax to 7 percent from 5 percent.

On this vote, a "yes" vote was a vote to increase the tax to 7 percent and a "no" vote was a vote to keep it at 5 percent.

Voting "yes" were 15 Democrats and 0 Republicans.

Voting "no" were 5 Democrats and 25 Republicans.

Not voting was 1 Democrat.
