Gov. Haley, I realize that you are quite busy and have a lot to do, especially   with the flooding and other threats of flooding in the state of South Carolina. However, I am in need of help with the Medicaid office in obtaining Medicaid for my grandson, Carlous Sanders, 28, claim #: 247-83-8063,who was shot in the head on the night of May 31, 2015.  Carlous was an innocent bystander, with no health insurance, who was shot and hospitalized at MUSC Hospital from 5/31/2015 to 9/15/2015 (3 1/2 months).  He was released to me, grandmother, for care and nursing back to health.  Applications for SSI, Social Security Disability, SNAP and Medicaid were taken at Chamberlin Edmonds @ MUSC and filed.  He has been approved for SNAP, Social Security and SSI is pending along with Medicaid.  Carlous has followup doctors appointments that I can't keep because he needs to be transported by wheelchair van ($500.00 and up) or ambulance ($1,000.00 plus) to these appoints, that I can't afford to pay.  I live on a fixed income and don't have the money for his transportation.  I am bearly affording to pay for his medications which are over $200.00 for 30 day supplies.
I have been calling Candace Little, 1-787-2818 ext 81645, the case manager for Carlous since the middle of September. She returned a call to me over a week ago and missed me and has not returned any of the other dozen calls that I have placed to her and left several messages. Carlous had another doctor's appointment for tomorrow, Friday, 10/9 @ 9:30 a.m., which I have already cancelled because I cannot afford to pay the transportation fare.
I need help with this matter and would appreciate any assistance you or your office can give at this time.
