I would urge you to veto that bill for several reasons. First and foremost it is not needed and there is no upside to signing that bill but there are plenty of negatives if you do. My wife and I have been residents of North Myrtle Beach for 30 years where we have raised our two daughters and am happy to say have both graduated from University of South Carolina. Mopeds are simply not a problem and offer very inexpensive travel for hundreds of individuals that have either lost there license to operate a vehicle or they are financially unable to afford other transportation. Registration and fees would only add to their frustration and financial burdens. For the very few people that are annoyed with having to drive behind or pass mopeds they should stop and realize how fortunate they are not to have to rely on that form of transportation. I would say that golf carts are a much bigger issue but I still do not advocating having to register or license them. What's next bicycles? Where do we stop having big government take away a simple freedom like riding a moped? With so much talk of ecology and conservation I would think our government would be supporting moped riders since the fuel consumption is little to nothing to operate compared to an automobile. I would ask that you send a clear message to our state legislature by vetoing this bill that big government does not need to infringe on any more of our freedoms. Thank you for your consideration, Best Regards, Larry Keener
