Chase Tollison is currently afield in training about the proximity of Louisiana JRTC at Fort Polk. My step daughter, his wife, has been on the phone frantically for some 48 hours trying to cut through red tape through regular military channels for an emergency leave for this private, to no avail. I am reaching out to you Sir, in desperation, as we were just informed that little to nothing has been actually accomplished going through the American Red Cross and normal channels. Chase was raised, as a child, by his maternal Aunt Melinda Dickson due to his own natural mother's lack of capability to do so for her child. This young private is now much bereaved to learn that his Aunt Melinda passed away due to severe COPD, in his absence, within the last 24-36 hours. She was, by all means of definition, the only mother the boy ever had. He has missed her last moments on this mortal coil and now, it seems, will also miss her funeral which is due to take place at 15:00hrs at Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton, SC. I KNOW you may not get this Sir in time to be of any effect, but even a phone call from the right caller can oft make a profound difference. If indeed it is within your ability and willingness to do so, please take a hand in seeing if it is at all possible to have him with his family at this profoundly trying time. Your consideration is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Brett A. Waters, FF/REMTP 71.29.243.95
