Preliminary SC Coastal Storm Summary for Sept. 29-30

Tropical storm force conditions were observed along the Georgetown/Horry County Coast between 1:15 AM and 3:15 AM this date September 30, 2010

At 12:50 AM Edisto Buoy (41 NM SE Charleston SC) reported sustained south winds of 42 Gusting to 58 MPH

At 1:15 AM Myrtle Beach International AP reported sustained SE winds of 35 MPH and at 3:15 AM a south wind gust of 44 MPH

At 1:00 AM Georgetown AP reported a minimum barometric pressure of 995 MB (and a translated/reported 29.40 inches of mercury)

3:15 AM Georgetown AP measured a peak gust of 64 MPH during a thunderstorm (direction not indicated)

At 2:06 AM Springmaid Pier reported sustained tropical storm force winds SE@36 MPH At 2:54 AM SSE@41 MPH

Peak windspeed reported 2:48 AM SE@54 MPH (this value may be higher as more detailed obs become available)

At 2:53 AM N Myrtle Beach peak wind S@41 MPH

At 4:00 AM both the Marion County AP and Marlboro County Jetport reported a minimum barometric pressure of 29.37 inches of mercury (994 MB)
