S.C. Gives Big Bucks in Presidential Campaign
(Columbia-AP) -- Of the seven states holding Democratic presidential primaries on Tuesday, South Carolina leads in donations to candidates.
But the candidate getting the most money this
election from South Carolinians won't be on Tuesday's ballot.

According to information collected from Federal Election Commission filings by the Center for Public Integrity, South Carolinians have
given $2.4 million to the re-election campaign of Republican President George W. Bush.

The seven Democrats vying for the nomination to run against Bush in November collected less than $600,000 from donors in the Palmetto State. Among Democrats, South Carolina native and North
Carolina Senator John Edwards got the most here with $326,000.
