My son and his wife have been raising a grandchild she will be six this year and is ready to go to public school. However, we have been told we can not enroll the child because they need legal custody. They can not afford to apply for legal custody financially they can barely afford for basic needs. They don't receive assistance from the state for the child; no money, no stamps only thing they do receive is medical assistance. South Carolina Department of Social Services Child Protective Services placed this child in the care of the biological grandmother and gardfather but they will not assist in getting the documention needed to enroll this child in school. We want to ensure this child will get a proper education please help us obtain what ever it is we need to be able to enroll her In public school. She needs the interaction and social skills to be in a group environment - she missed out in the 3 and 4 k program because of this same issue. We want to ensure she will get a public education.
