We are home to approximately 830 students. The students, parents, teachers, staff and community of Mountain View Elementary make our school what it is. As our Building Leadership Team began preparing for the 2016-2017 school year, we decided to enhance our school climate and culture, by implementing the theme, be nice. We hope that this will have a positive impact on student achievement, behavior, and create a community of students who truly know what it means to be nice. It is our aspiration, that through our "be nice" theme, we can foster a culture of kindness and caring. We believe that a little bit of kindness can go a long way. We want our students, staff members, and parents to be kind, polite, and friendly. We want everyone to learn the value in treating other people the way you want to be treated by being kind, respectful, and generous. We are hoping that you will help us with our theme of "be nice". Would you take a picture with the attached sign and write a few sentences explaining what the words be nice mean to you? Or could you make a quick video of you holding the sign explaining the importance of being nice and what "be nice" means to you? We are hoping to use your picture or video to build enthusiasm with our students, parents, and staff members. Together we make a positive difference in the lives of our students. Kind Regards, Whitney Spooner **I could not attach a copy of our "Be nice" sign. If a contact person could email me, I am more than happy to email it so that Governor Haley could have her picture made with it or make a short video! Thanks so much!
