Subject: The Response SC - A Call to Prayer

Dear Directors of Missions:
On January 28, 2015 our staff along with Mark Hendrick, hosted a luncheon at the SC Capital building for legislators and pastors. Prior to the luncheon a small group of individuals met with Governor Nikki Haley to discuss the possibility of setting a date to call our state to “prayer for a nation in crisis.” Representing South Carolina Baptists in this meeting was Mark Hendrick, Tony Beam, and Brad Atkins.
“The Response: A Call to Prayer for a Nation in Crisis” has been set for Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. There will also be a youth rally from 9:00am to 10:00am on the same day. Similar emphasis like this one for South Carolina has already been conducted in Texas and Louisiana yielding spiritual results. Louisiana had 6,000 participate and the goal for South Carolina will be 10,000. Texas had a participation of 30,000.
As you can see by the attached documents, all these “Day of Prayer” events have been for evangelicals with no politician or pastors driving the agenda. It will be a “Day of Prayer for a Nation in Crisis” in South Carolina.
Please mark your calendar and help us get the word to your constituents and other leaders across our state. More information will be forthcoming in the near future.
Lord, send a Great Movement of Repentance and Awakening across South Carolina and our Nation and let it begin with your people and your church!
Sincerely Yours …
… Willingly His,
Richard H. Harris

Sincerely,
Richard Harris
