Is anyone listening? Anyone who wants to know why I am so deeply disappointed in the Republican party need look no further than Nikki Haley's televised "response" to Obama's state of the union speech last night. Given a few precious moments of national air time to make a case for the truth, for American exceptionalism and for a starkly different view of the nation and its future, she squandered two-thirds of it attacking Donald Trump and alienating all those who share his frustrations. She even opened her remarks by complimenting Obama and opining that Republicans share in the blame for today's sad state of the union! In other words, she chose to defend the political establishment rather than tell the American public who is to blame and why. Disgraceful. Sad. Typical.
