ORANGEBURG, S.C. - A prison guard accused of attempting to bring drugs to an inmate was arrested on Wednesday, the State Law Enforcement Division said.
Jeremy Williams, 24, of Thomson, Ga., was charged with misconduct in office, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana within proximity of a school and violation of the state contraband law.
The arrest warrant said an investigation by undercover agents led to Williams' arrest in Orangeburg.
Williams, who works at the Allendale Correctional Institution, was taken to the Orangeburg County jail.
