The annual South Carolina Conservation Partnership Conference will take place in Myrtle Beach Jan. 16-18, 2008, at Kingston Plantation. This year’s theme is "South Carolina at the Crossroads—The Future of Our Water."
The deadline to register is Dec. 31.
The conference will focus on the challenges that South Carolina may face in the near future concerning water quality and quantity. Featured speakers include local, regional, and national conservationists who will address a range of topics including watershed assessment, defining resource concerns in impaired watersheds, and how to deal with water quantity concerns.
Special guest speaker at the opening luncheon is Tom Lester, better known as "Eb" from the popular television series "Green Acres." Lester is a strong supporter of conservation and natural resources planning.
