Holiday from Taxes
Get Ready to Shop!

South Carolina's "Tax-Free Holiday" is underway. It started at midnight Friday and runs through 11:59pm Sunday.

During the weekend, South Carolina shoppers can get a break on the state's five percent sales tax on items for back-to-school. However, you don't have to be a student to take advantage of the tax break. Clothing, computers and printers are just a few of the items tax free.

Some stores are even offering sales tax breaks for items that the state doesn't exempt; such as groceries. At all Piggly Wiggly stores, shoppers can purchase any item tax free through Sunday.

Others, including furniture stores, are offerng the break as well.
