And further, that you sign a proclamation to that effect. Student Employment week is recognized both regionally and nationally by the Southern Association of Student Employment Administrations (SASEA), the National Student Employment Association (NSEA), and the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). I am attaching a copy of the 2011 Proclamation for your information.(unable to attach through this system). Our campus employs approximately 2,000 student employees annually through Federal Work Study, community service organizations, and other student employment resources. We promote student employment as an educational factor in the development of effective and productive citizens and as an economic factor in providing income for students in higher education. Student employment also offers students career-enhancing experiences, the opportunity to develop employment skills, and financial support during their academic careers. Many student employees pay for a significant portion of their college expenses through work opportunities, thus reducing the debt burden so common among college graduates today. The College of Charleston looks forward to honoring student employees during the week and displaying the State of South Carolina Proclamation. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. Regards, Cheryl Wingert Career Advisor Career Center, College of Charleston A Division of Student Affairs 66 George St. Charleston, SC 29424-0001
